The MIZI03 series, introduced by MINMAX, is a new 3W isolated DC-DC converter that has received railway certification. It features an international standard DIP-24 package with a compact and integrated overall design, making it highly suitable for space-constrained railway direct current systems. The MIZI03 series offers 15 models to choose from, all providing high-precision and stable output voltage. It is applicable to various input voltage ranges of 24 (9-36) VDC, 48 (18-75) VDC, and 72/110 (40-160) VDC for DC railway systems.
Safety considerations for overall railway equipment are paramount for every designer. The MIZI03 series comes with a 3000VAC high isolation voltage and a reinforced insulation system to prevent damage to the backend system or injury to operators. Other features include overcurrent, undervoltage, short-circuit protection, and EMI radiation compliance with EN55032 Class A certification, suppressing internal and external interference to customer systems and taking protective measures promptly in case of abnormalities. The excellent overall thermal design allows the MIZI03 series to operate in a temperature range of -40°C to +80°C even under full load conditions, maintaining stable electrical performance and ensuring adaptability to the dynamic railway environment.
The MIZI03 series complies with vibration and shock/collision tests EN 61373, cooling, dry heat, and damp heat tests IEC/EN 60068-2-1,2,30, and railway EMC standard EN 50121-3-2. It has also passed railway certification EN 50155 (IEC 60571) and fire protection test EN 45545-2, aiming for long-term and safe operation in harsh conditions of railway applications. The very small footprint makes this product the ideal solution for many applications where a voltage has to be isolated i.e for noise reduction, ground loop elimination, in digital interfaces or where a converted voltage is required. An excellent efficiency allows an operating temperature range of –40℃ to +90℃. With a new package design these converters are fully qualified for the higher temperature profile used in lead-free reflow solder processes. For automated SMD production lines the product can be supplied in tape & reel package.
