Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE)

Not only does KAGA FEI have 40 years of experience derived from its Fujitsu roots, but we are an absolute expert in wireless module products as KAGA FEI has acquired TAIYO YUDEN’s high-tech wireless module business and technologies in 2022. With KAGA FEI’s own wireless connectivity brand CONTINECT we offer a wide variety of modules of more than 20 types, including the world’s smallest level of ultra-compact BLE and modules for long-range communication. With our very own Development Center we always try to push the limits of the technology.

Bluetooth® Low Energy Module

Most of our BLE modules are technologically identical to Taiyo Yuden brand’s modules. Please see Taiyo Yuden product numbers in brackets for reference.

How it works

Bluetooth uses UHF radio waves from 2.402 GHz to 2.48 GHz. Via this globally unlicensed frequency band, two devices can be coupled to exchange data wirelessly without line of sight.

Traditionally Bluetooth was designed for short range communication between two devices. Today’s Bluetooth Low Energy is primarily designed for low power consumption, since most of the time at least one of the two coupled devices relies on battery power, and can achieve ranges of up to 1 km or more. In the near future Bluetooth devices will also be able to broadcast a data stream to an unlimited number of devices using Auracast.

To make new developments easier we also offer Evaluation Boards and Evaluation Kits for all of our modules, as well as support for antenna design.
